WOD for GOD
I wanted to start with an apology:
I am sorry it has been a few weeks since we have had time to talk. Our box has been so busy, but that is no excuse. From time to time we have to be reminded of what is important. And this... our little Wednesday WOD for GOD chat is no different. It will always be here to stay.
Now, I was recently reminded of one of my favorite quotes. It reminds me of not only how to move functionally, but also how to approach life:
"Be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." ~ Bruce LeeJust as Bruce Lee describes being able to move physically and spiritually as though you were water, the bible also talks about being able to forgive when you really don't want to or think that you should.
Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. ~Matthew 18:21-22
In the Story that Jesus describes, he talks about how sometimes you forgive someone, only to be upset again. But Jesus says to continue forgiving. How often? 70 times 7 (about 490 times).
How many times do you forgive?
So you must strive to be like water, flowing softly when needed and more harshly when needed. But in either case, you must be able to move and forgive.
