Wednesday - WOD For God

One of the hardest things that we have to deal with as Christians and CrossFitters are the people in our lives who wish to knock us down and make us feel bad.
Too many of us know that there are so many roadblocks to getting and staying in shape. We have the media, our family, our friends, our enemies, work, school, and so much more all out there trying to prevent us from doing what God intended... To Glorify Him through all aspects of our lives.
And this doesn't just mean once or twice a week in Church, but daily...by our actions, our decisions and Yes, by glorifying God in our body.
"Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body." 1 Cor 6:19-20

Do you know anyone that tries to get you to eat bad, not workout, do immoral things?
What about people that try to harm you by words or actions so that you just give up?
What about injuries, money issues, worrying, stress and other "Worldly" things that prevent you from
doing what you know you need to do?
“If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you…. If they persecuted Me they will persecute you… for they do not know the One who sent Me.” John 15:19-21

However, the best thing that we can do is to stay strong, have faith, and surround ourselves with people in our lives that we know will help us to meet our goals.

Whether they are just simple fitness goals, or you are truly trying to Glorify God by keeping your body healthy... you WILL be presented with roadblocks. And YES... many of those roadblocks and evils will be in the form of friends, family and others in your lives.

But we can't do the same thing to them. Paul suggests a better approach that I try to practice daily when evil is sometimes right at our doorstep.
"Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing." 1 Peter 3:9

So we need to move forward, cautiously and optimistically, knowing that our Goals will be met with Roadblocks, but as long as we have faith (and each other) we will win our prize.
