My training goals
are: be able to do burpees, any kind of pull up, do 50 single jump ropes in a
row, (I've actually done 25 in a row once) do a handstand, box jumps, jog/run
400 meters, remember what all of the lifts are called and improve my lifting
over all.
Something that no one knows about me.
My husband is 9 years younger than me. We've been together for 18 years.
My CrossFit success story?
I'm working on my success story. I still have a long way to go, but I'm
making progress. I've lost 32 pounds and gone down close to 6 sizes. I have
more energy and mobility. I drive 30 miles one way to come to a WOD. I have 30
reasons not to come, but I come as many times as my schedule allows.
My advice for newbies?
Don't give up! Keep coming, even when you don't want to come. But,
understand what your body is telling you. If you are honestly not feeling well,
have an injury, feeling run down or exhausted, then you need a break. If you
have family or work related needs, take care of those. If you don't want to
come because the WOD looks like it sucks, get in the car and get here! The
WOD's always look like they suck, most times they do, but you feel so much
accomplishment when you get done. Most days people ask me how the WOD was and I
usually reply it sucked, but I'll be back tomorrow. Remember everyone is on
different levels, don't compare yourself to anyone one else. Embrace your
successes and over come your failures, because failures are just opportunities
to be better than you were before. Life is a journey and you get to navigate
it, where are you going to go on your journey? Don't give up!
