What a Powerful week
this has been. We took some time off to go and visit my mother who recently had
a stroke. Although, at first, you might immediately think we had a rough week,
it wasn’t.
We were reminded of all of the wonderful reasons why family,
friends and God are so important in our lives. From the start, I have to admit
I was crushed. Just imagining my mother (who for my entire life has been so
strong) was now temporarily weakened and afraid. That thought also left me afraid
and lost.
However, amid all of my fears and doubts, my friends
immediately came to my aid and reminded me that was just temporary. My fears
and doubts were only that, fears and doubts.
I was reminded of our sign in our gym:
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. ~ Philippians
4:13
Once we got to my mom, I witnessed the true definition of
Love: My father caring for my mother and making sure that she had everything
that she needed (day and night!). Throughout this ordeal, my dad keeps saying
that “together, they can get through anything” and this was no different. To my
parents, this was just another bump in the road, another obstacle in the crazy
obstacle course of life (For my mud-run athletes).
The Ability to Love is not foreign to most people. In fact,
I hear people say all the time that they love
someone so much that they would die for them. They say:
I would die for you!
The challenge that I am giving myself and others based on my
experience this week is to Love others so much that you will “live for them”. Can
you say I love you so much:
I will live for you!
What does this mean? It means that you will take care of
yourself , live right, eat better, try harder, call your family, call your friends,
and make sure that you are around for a long time to Love one another! (and do a little CrossFit here and there)
Be reminded of this:
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit
within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought
with a price. So glorify God in your body. ~ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Wednesday
Strength:
Snatch pull @ 110% of snatch
3x4
Snatch grip deadlift @125% of snatch
5x3
Metcon: 15 minute clock
2 pull-up> toe 2 bar (scaled= kip> knees to 90 degrees)
2 squats cleans 185/135 135/95 95/65
4 pull-up > T2B
4 squats cleans (same weight)
~Adding 2 reps every round
Pull-ups and T2B are meant to be linked in a complex
Scaled would be a kip > knees to 90 degrees
Want to focus on linking for athletes that have them down and kipping efficiency for scaled athletes (NO BANDS)
